A business can appear prominently on Google Maps when someone searches nearby, then become much harder to find a few streets away. For the person running that business, the difference matters. It changes which potential customers are likely to see them.

This is the question behind YPYM Radius: how does a business’s local search visibility change as the search location moves?

In October 2026, we opened Radius for broader use, following an invitation-only release in August. Before that initial release, we had spent several months developing the application locally. Access remained limited while we continued preparing the product for a wider audience.

Radius measures Google Maps visibility from specified geographic coordinates and across different distances around a location. It helps users examine where a business appears in local results, how its position changes, and which competing businesses appear nearby. The approach is explained in our Radius documentation.

For a business with several branches, that gives each location its own context. A strong result around one branch tells us little about what someone searching near another branch will see. Even within the same neighbourhood, the search location can affect the results.

The public release also includes monthly pricing plans with defined scan allowances, published on the Radius product page. Users can review the available plans alongside the product explanation before deciding whether it fits their work.

We have also made a public demo and developer console available, with storefront examples and API integration information.

For me, the useful starting point is a specific business question: where can people actually find this location in search? Radius gives that question a geographic frame, so the answer can be examined more closely.
