Around July 2026, our company launched an internship program.
Interest was limited, given that our brand is still relatively new. We targeted two cities: Yogyakarta and Malang. The reason was clear — both are education-centered cities, meaning a larger pool of candidates and a better chance for us to find students with strong work ethic and high intelligence.
We ultimately received around 8 CVs, and in the end, we took only one candidate — from Malang.
Throughout July 2026, we gave him no tasks at all. This is typical of YPYM. We use the first 2 to 4 weeks to observe how an individual adapts to our organization, and how he uses his time in his own way, without any outline from us. We always do this to identify creative individuals who are bold enough to move on their own — without rules, without limits.
To make a long story short, in August he invited one of our Dev team members for an idea-sharing session. And nearly every day, from early to mid-August, he came with a new idea.
One idea stuck with us. A simple statement — coming from an intern who did not yet have a deep understanding of SEO or this business.
Sir, search on Google and AI to find the pattern of why a page can perform for keywords with commercial intent that mainly for these keywords: [ jasa seo terbaik, agency seo terbaik, jasa seo, harga jasa seo ].
He gradually managed to find that pattern. But why were the results so significantly different between the patterns found for Google in the US market, the Singapore market, versus Indonesia?
This is not meant to highlight that Indonesia is simply full of articles or landing pages that are over-optimized to win those keywords — rather, it is because much of the writing and publications available in Indonesia are simply not of high quality. Quality here is relative to the context and intent of the keyword itself.
We do not plan to publish the full research and mapping results produced by our intern team, because many brands would be reviewed and dissected in it — and the significant quality gaps would become visible. That would put the mentioned brands in an unfavorable light.
To make a long story short, those ideas and calibration were carried out together with our product team, dev team, data PIC, colleagues in SEO and organic marketing, as well as mid-management level and we ultimately agreed that, as of September 5, we would launch a feature: programmatic SEO, aimed at winning the same keywords discussed in the core content of this research.

As a note, we do indeed use a programmatic approach to capture commercially-intent keywords on the internet within the SEO space. That said, we understand this matter very well.
We have attached here Google's official guidelines.
- Spam policies for Google web search
- Google Search's guidance about AI-generated content
- Programmatic SEO - Google Search Central
We must, of course, comply with those guidelines for SEO specialists, feel free to dissect and technically assess our product plan.
Beyond the technical challenges from our SEO specialists' point of view, the point of view of realizing our intern's idea, and the product-scalability and commercial challenges from our product team, we ultimately have to think about what matters most: what benefit this brings to the user. We carefully dissected and articulated each keyword that was proposed. We patiently tested those keywords and tried to examine what the actual intent behind each question truly was.
And you don't need to go through that complicated process yourself — we present it directly on our new landing page, the next piece of work from YPYM.
For those curious about our intern's research findings, before we bring all of this to the public on the internet, you can request it via email at [email protected]
